Houston on 'the !at -inst., we' learn that positive
information has been received by letters and

true, this little body ta ill very probably reach the
neighborhood of Matamoros unchecked; and if
reinforced by that time, will immediately attack

WORKS OF NATURE—In state of healttt the intesti
nal canal may be compared to :a river whose waters
flow 'net the adjoining land.thrnugh the channels w a
ttire or art has made, and improves their qualities ;
and to keep up the comparison of the ricer, so long
as it nuns on smoothly the channels are kept pure
and healthy ' • but if by some Calash the course of the
river is stopped, then the water in the canals j s no
longer pure, but soon becomes stagnsat. There Is
but one law ofcirculation in nature. , When there is
a superabundance of hunnirial fluid (serosity) ih the
intestit I tubes, and costiveness takes place, it flows
lank into the Wood vessels, and infiltrates itself into
the circulation. To cstahlish the free course of the
river. we must remove the obstructions which stop itsr

effectual assistant of nature, the superabundance of
humors in the intestinal canal. Ely persevering in
this practice, the ways of the circulation will then be
restored to the full exercise of their natural functions,
and a state of health will be firmly establised. Re

they are degenerated. or as long as you are sick:
