- Quesso, May 8,4837.
DEAR SIR:—An article called Dr. Hewes"Nerve
and Bone Liniment,"came to my kiilifwiedge a
bout two months Since, through oar friend Mr. Cam
pbell, and I procured:" bottle and had.used it fur about
a week without any/material changeontil one.morn
ing I found myself underthe exercise of vely uncom
mon feelings, imagining that could be helped Up I
could stand and walk, I requested my fauilly to aid
me, bat they were unwilling I should trust myself .on
my rest; not having for the last fourteen arida half
years ever even made the attempt to stand: but my
confide* N9ll to great that they consented to assist
de froinlay bed. I found I could use my _lege with
apparent ease, but could not bear my weight on my
feet. With support, however, I could place one foot
before the other with a facility that astonished me
and all around me. They led me twice across' the
room; I sat down with leelings of happiness that I
never before experienced; the idea was that I was
once again to be restored to the world ran through
my frame like an electric shock. My family surroun
ded mein tears of joy, and the excitement tuxcom
pletely overcome me that I fainted. The same day' I
walked three time across the floor, again bearing a
little weight at each time on my feet. Althea . used
crutches for' a few days, when my strength bad
become so far re-established, that L could cross'the
thisr without the least aid. My tulvaacement from
flouiime has : - been almost incredible.. I can: walk
two hundred yards and back with case, aid my chil
dren, ( the beitrid are often blessed, like me. With
near a dozen, lhave been so ovedoyed that theyeould
scarcely eat or sleep, and Mrs. Corning seems to feel
half a score of years younger herself. You *Hine
ollect how mucl3 Pent together I_ was when you were
kg here. 1-have entirely overcome this. If I look
ed as odd as,l felt when I began to walk,tl would
have been gazed at in astonishment. 1 have seen ma
ny of iny ' old acquaintances. some of whom did not
know me at all. and *awns/Mild scarcelycredii their
senses, and would hardly have been 'more astoniehed,
though one had "risen from the dead." I have now ,
every confidence that I am a well-man. 1 think this
article is the Most extraordinary of, any I ever heard
of, and if it isnot extensively made known to the pub
lic,l think the proprietors are very culpable. If you,
know the persons in New York selhog it, you bad bet
ter show them thisletter, and let them refer to you,
or publish this if youthiuk it would aid the duitress4.
Remember me to your family,
• • Yours, very truly,
