Impressed with feelings of the deepest sorrow by
the kereayement which has d•fprired the family of
the tate. President of a kind, indulgent and affee•
tionate husband end...father; and the nation of one of
its molt distinguished citizens. I comply with the

freemeri of the Commonwealth f Pennsylvania, and
enclose. their proceedings, ad pted upon receiving,
the Melancholy intelligence t at. the President of
the United States was no mo .
The heavy loss which, by this dispensation of
Divine Providence, hes fallen upon the family of
the ldte President is mitigated, as far as by human'
mettoe it can be mitigated ! by the condolence and
sympathy of' the whole nation in which the people
of Oita commonwealth, with orie accord unite.
