Diseases of the Lungs.
NUMEROS remedies have been offered and puffed
into notice for DISEASES OF THE LUNGS.
some of which has undoubtedly been found very useful_
bat of all that have hitherto been known, it must be
universally acknowledged there - is none that has ever.
proved as successful as the 'JIALSAM OF WILD
CHERRY "''Such indeed ash the astonishing restora T
five hod healing properties of thin BALSAM. that even
in this 'worst forms of CONSUMPTION. when the pa
tient'has suffered the most distreising cough. violent pan
in the chest, diffirulty of hreathingought streets, Mending
of the lungs, 4 , e and when the most esteemed remedies
of our Pharmacopias had failed to afford any relief, and
when Botanic, Homeopathic. and numerous other rem
edie9, had been used for many months in vain, this
invaluable remedy has checked every symptom, and
been productive of the most astonishing relief. In the
eirlt stages of the disease, proceeding from neglected
colds, termed Catarrahl Consumption. it has been used
with undeviating success, and in many instsnces, when
this Idiseane seemed to have marked its victim for an
early grave. the use of this medicine has arrested every
symptom, and restored the lungs to a state of perfect
health.
Id that form of CONSUMPTION. so prevalent a
mongst delicate young female s , commonly termed debil
ity br 'going into a decline . 'a complaint with which
thodsands are lingering,it hashlso been used with sur
prising success, and not only possesses the power of
chetiking the progress of this alarming disease, but
at the same time strengthens and invigorates the whole
system more effectually than any remedy we have ever
postiessed.
IrTLIVERCOMPLAINTIn diseases -of the Liege,
particularly when attended with a cough, indigestion or
wandering pains in the Side, it bas also proved very
efficacious, and cured many cases pf this ktnd after the
meal powerful remedies had failed.
114 r• ASTHMA.—In this complaint it also Peen used
in nmperous instances with the most singular success.
It opens the chest, rendering the breathing perfectly
free.arrests the cough, and will seldom fail to give per
manent relief.
'less BRONPHITIS.As a remedy in all Bronichial
affetions of the throat, attended with a hoarseness, cough
or soar in the throat, it will also be found a very effectual
remedy. and will mostly afford immediate relief if used
at the commencement efthe attack.
HT COUGEN AN COLDS —ln common coughs
and. colds, that prevail sp extensively throughout the
winter, it will be found much more effectual than any
remedy in use, and when colds settle' upon the lungs.
causing an inflamation with pains in the breast, difficulty
or shortness of breathing, &c. the use of this Balsam will
suppress such symptoms immediately, and at thp same
time prevent the lunge from becoming more seriously
diseased.
ET CROUP AND WHOOPING COUGH.—In these
complaints, so co on to young children, this Balsam
will be found much superior to the Paregoric Elixer
Syrup of Squills, and the various COUGH MIXTURES
in common use, as it is entirely free from any thing the
!mit injurious, and may at all times be given to children
with perfect safety, and with the certainty of itsaffording
them speedy relief.
It? AS A FAMILY MEDICINE „[or many other
complaints, this Balsam will also be fond particularly
useful. Besides having proved an invaluable remedy in
all Pulmonary affections, it exerts a ptwerful influence
over many diseases depending on a depraved condition
of the system, and those who have suffered from the
indiscriminate use of Mercury, or other deleterious
drugs, that are often compounded in different quack nos
trums, will find it a remedy of great value, p'ssessing
the'power of strengthening and invigorating the whole
system more effectual than any other medicine we pos
sess.
CAUTION TO PURCHASERS.—As this medicine
has. already acquired great celebrity, there may prob
able be some attempts to imitate it, and deceive the
public with a spurious mixture, to prevent which I would
wish all purchasers to observe the following marks of
the`genuine Balsam. It is put up in bottles oftwo sizes
each, having the words Wig - I'A R'S BALSAM OF
WILD CHERRY, PHILADA , blown in the glass, and
a label on the front with the signature of HENRY
WISTA R. M. D. without 'which none are genuine.
Prepared for the Proprietor by WILLIAMS & Co.

I Sarsaparilla.
To the World.
IF you wish to make use te Sarsaparilla. be advited to
a . try_ DR. LEIDY'S MEDICATED EXTRACF OF .
SARSAPARIpLA. It is positively the strongest pre.
paration in existence. one bottle of it (which costs but
one dollar) being equal to one gallon of Syrup. as it is
usually prepared in the shops, and equal to two bottles
of any other extract. Dr:l44ly begs leave to state that
he himself prepares it, and can consequently vouch for
its strength. Numarous Physicians throughout the U
nited States, give it the preference over all other prepa-
rations of Sarsaparilla, both fkouithefam of its superior
strength (consequently efficacious when employed) and
from the circumstance of its being pr ep ared by a rep.
