ON HE perfectly safe, unerring, and successful treat
ment of almost every species of disease _ by the uses
of MOFFAT'S LIFE MEDICINES. is no longer a
matter of doubt, as a reference to the caper ience of
many thousand patients will satisfactorily prove. Dur
ing the present month alone nearly one hundred cases
have come to the' knowledge oC Mr. Moffat, where the
patient has, to all appearance, effected a permaneat.
cure by the exchisive and judicious- use of the Life Me
dicines—some eight or ten of these had been consider.
eci beyond all hope by their. medical attendants. Such
'happy results are a source of great pleasure to Mr. M.
and inspire hint, with new confidence to recommend
the use of his medicines to his fellow-citisens.
The LIFE. MEDICINES are a purely VEGETABLE
preparation. They are mild and pleasant in their ope
ration, and at the same time thorough—acting rapidly
upon the secretions of the system—carrying off all acri
monious humors, and assimilating with and purifying
the blood. For, this reason, in aggravated cases of
Dyspepsia, the Life Medicines will give relief in a slier
ter space of time than any other prescription. In fever
andTAgue, Inflammatory Rheumatism. Fevers of every
description, Sick Headache, Heart-burn, Dix:einem to
the head, Pains In the Chest,'Flatulency, impaired ap.
petite, and in every disease arising from an impurity of
the blood, or a - disordered state of the stomach, the use
of these Medicines has always proved tob pond
doubt, greatly superior to any other m e reat
ment.
All that Mr. Moffat :Mks of his patients is to be par , i

41E Valley Furnace, Rome time ago arranged
for smelting Iron Ote with Anthracite Coal,
with an .escellent and powerful Steam Engine at
tached to It. The furnace is situate four miles from
. Port Carbon, up the Schuylkill Valley Rail Road,
on the Valley Furnace land.
These lands crossing the whole of the Schuylkill
Coal range, contain all „the different coal veins or
strata of coal of that celebrated Coal region, a num
ber of which have - been opened, and some of them
are now 'worked. There is also plenty of Iron Ore
upon the land, some of the Veins of which have been
opened; the favorable location and facilities already
created inspire the hope of making' Iron at the very

the HRALIP.:I3 ART.
The extraordinary success which has attended the
use of HUNT'S BOTANIC PILLS, is the best crit.
erion of their superior virtues. They have'been the
means of raising a host of -IrMguishing patients
from the bed of affliction, as is clearly evinced in
the following
CERTIFICATES.
Dyspepsia or Indigestion Effectually Cured
Mr. Wm. Tacker, having lately been restored o
a sound state of health, through the efficacy of DR
HUNT'S BOTANIC PILLS, thinks it an indispen
sable duty to state certain !acts relative to the di
ease under which he had so long suffered. The
symptoms were—a painful obstruction, with a con
stant rejection of food, head ache. palpitation of the
heart, lowness of spirits, a troublesome dry cough,
dizziness, tightness at the chest and difficulty of
breathing, almost constant pain in the side, loins,
and shoUlders, accompanied with much languor and
debility. These afflictions, together with en unusual
degree of flatulence, brought on such a state of ex
treme weakness,'as to prevent him from attending
to his busines, and his health appeared lost beyond
recovery. His friends and i f elatives became alarm
ed at the melancholy prospect, and strongly recom
mended HUNT'S BOTAN IC PILLS— they were
administered, and in-a few days produced astonish
ing relief, and finally realized a perfect restoration
to sound health. WILLIAM TUCKER.
(Aver Complaint, with much Derangement of the
Net-eons System.
Mr. Joshua Roberts was afflicted with a billions
and nervous disease to an Maiming degree, being
attended with all the distressing symptoms which
affect a relaxed constitution, viz .—A sick head-ache
loss of . appetite, giddiness in the head, pain in the
sto.nach after eating, usual tremors, shifting spas
modic pains in every part of the body. cold chill.
sallow complexion, costiveness, and a constant dull
pain in the right side, which often induced the ri l ed
dreadful debility indeed, he hought he was afflict
ed with evrry internal complaint the human body is
liable to. He was generally making trial of various
remedies, all of which were equally fruitless, tint.
he had recourse to Hunt's Botanic Pills, from the
superior virtues of which medicine his health is per
fectly're.establishee, and is now able to pursue his
employment free from pain or disease.
JOSHUA ROBERTS.
Auextraordinary case of Rheumatism, accompanied
with Diairhaa and Neivoue Debility.
IMr. Joreph Hart, from being exposed to cold, was
attacked with a most painful Rheumatic complain:
in the head, and neck, which continued with die.
tressing violence for several months. The principle
symptoms were—a swelling and excruciating pain
of all the joints, and en entire loss of their use ; both
the pain and the fever generally suffefed an increase
in the evening. The pairs wcre increased on the
slightest motion, and were more severe in the nigit
time. A constant diarrhoea. which produced its
general consequences—flatulency, lowness of spirits,
and general wasting of the body. He was indeed so
extremely ill that his medical attendant could not
possibly give the least hopes of his recovery, and it
was generally believed by his relatives and friends
that all the medicines or treatment in this world
could not give him any relief. But seeing en ad
vertisement on Hunt's Botanic Pills, he was directed
by an Almighty Providence to use them ; he did so,
and after a fortnight they produced a favorable
change, and he is now a healthy and strong men.
JOSEPH HART.
A interesting case of Lowness of Spirits, with avi
dent Spaamodie Affection. _
Mr. Francis Caldwell wee afflicted for several yeara
with extreme debility, together with a train of symp
toms generally termed nervous affections, and
which-, perhaps, it would be impossible for the peient
the most learned physicians to describe. In this
case the spasms in the stomach were so frequent and
excruciating as nearly to deprive him of reason
pains in the limbs. extending even to the fingers
and toes, flatulenee, sickness at the stomach, and a
general agitation of the whole system, insomuchp hat
a common incident rendered the mind timid and ap.
prehensive. In order to remove these die miming.
symptoms. and restore the constitution to its former
energy, a large portion of medical skill had been ex
hausted without any advantage ; change of air, and
other remedies were a•Iso unavailing, and the mind
and body appeared to be devoted to a ruthless die.
ease. In this hopeless and languid situation, Mr-
Caldwell was recommended to make trial of Hunt's
Botanic Pills, the effects of which were visable in a
few days, and by a continuance of the medicine
(according to directions ' ) his strength becaine coin
*lay restored, and a sound state of health, was
happily established.
