Dear Sir : I have been for a series of yeara afflict.
ed with an affection of the Lunge ' and a hard cough,
and have many times arose in the morning as corn-
pletely exhausted by excessive coughing during the
night as a person would be by a hard days' labor I

I consider a great desideratum. On taking a dose

take great pleasure in recommending your Balsam

DEAR SIR—I feel it dueto yau as the inventor of the
medicine and to the public. who may be greatly benefit
ed by it. to state a cure that was performed in my family
by the use of 'our "Carminative Balsam."
My little jean, when about too mouths old. was seized
with a boatel amyl/air:t caused' as Isuppose,by . a change
of diet. It Continued-for two weeks without intermis
sion. It continued two weeks without iotermission, and
notwithstanding the remedies prescribed by a respecta
ble physician, we gave up the child a victim,aa we sup
posed, to , a fatal disease, but I providentially heard of
"Jayne's Carminative," as an effectual cure for bowel
complaint, and immediately', despatched a messenger to
a town seventeen miles o ff for a bottle. By the use of
this medicine, in leis than thirty-six hours the disease
was checked; and by its continued use for a few days
the child was restored to perfect health. Shortly Wier
this, there occurred a similar case in one of the families
of my congregation. • I prescribed ..layrie's Carmina
tive," and the result was a speedy cure. From a knowl
edge ofthe , e ffi cacy of year medicine in bowel complaint
a disease to which children ;are constantly liable, I have
obtainrxiand . keep constantly in the house, a quantity of
the "Carminative. "-
The same child, owing io exposure, when recently
coining op the Ohio,' was attacked by that horrible male..

and when our fears were alarmed lest the hoarse sapid.

a tea-spoon full of the '.Erioetorrod," (a bottle ofwhich
you presented me with when in Philadelphia) and applied
some lineament to thethroat and breast. andlefore Ma
ny minutes the hoarsenes. *as gone, the ,child breathed
freely and slept sweetly. Owing to these circnntstinces
it ennnot be wondered at why I basest, high an Opinion
of Dr Jayne's medicine, and why ladvise every; family
