The Populdr Vote in
S Virginia.
It is stated, though **have not had time to make
fhp calculation, that the copular Congressional vote
:in Virginia ghosts a majority of about 2500 against
tpq Administration. This is perhaps the best test
of the sentiments of the people of Virginia. in regard
'to the ACminist ratio a cowl ave The Belli

•"1t is to be remarked that the present division of
the Congressional districts of Virginia ads particu

small Whig majorities being attached tq a county
giving a Loco Foco majority large enough to oiwr

thrown into one district ; —by the first irrangement
we lost the Norfolk and Campbell districts, and by

- The recent election in Virginia, en far, at least as
Congress is concerned„ has 'resulted in a manner
truly gratifying. The Whigs have unquestionably
'maintained their old strength, while we indulge a
strong hope that -the official returns will show the
election of a MAJORITY or News and CONSIRTA•

-is of the deepest importance, and May be considered
