The prosecution here rested, and the-defence
said they bad no evidence to offer, bat request
ed the Court to Instruct the JurYto bring in a
special verdict, in accordance- with the facts;
that is, that they should state in their verdict
that the defendant was Indicted for Belling
liqacr on the 21 October, but that the evidence
showed the offence wail committed on the Bth.
This was objected to by Mr. Roberts and Col.'
Black, and argued at some length by the coun
sel on both sides. The Judge decided that he
would give to instrnotions, and that the Jury
must reader a verdict the tame as in sty other
misdemeanor.
Mr. Roberts then addressed the jury for the
Commonwealth, and was followed by Mr.
Burke and Loomis for the defendant, Col. Black
closing for the prosecution; after whioh. Court
adjourned.

A roast of . meat and a half-dozen loaves of

and with a consumption of fuel that is absolutely
nothing by comparison. There is a chance for
men to make money by purchasing rights. The

It is on exhibition at the City Hotel, as we have
said before, where any person can see it tested
