Before taking a vote on this, the Convention ad journed until half-past seven in the evening. At the hoar named, the Convention was oalled to order by the Chairman, and the nomination of a Canal Commissioner deolared the first thing :n order. Rev. Samuel Aaron, of Chester ooan ty, suggested Mr. Passmore Williamson as a oandidate, in plaoe of Mr. Martin. The Conven tion oooordingly rejeoted the nominee seleoted by the oommittee, and nominated Mr. William son, by aoolamation, as the Repnblloan oandidate for Canal Commissioner.
