INFORMATION has been made to the Board or Health
that cases of cholera occurring outside of tho city have
been brought within Us Umito for relief. No doubt the
friends of the sick are prompted bj motives of humanity,
y«l it Is proper they should be Informed that they subject
themselves to a severe penalty by so doing.
The Legislature passed Uwb regulating this matter, in
cases where the disease is malignant or contagious, in order
that the densely populated city may be protected from any
unnecessary scourge, which, when It has gained a foxing,
scarcely rests so long as there remains a subject for Us re

The Board of Health are determined to enforce tho law.
If patients seiied with cholera, or anv malignant or conta
iriooa disease, outside the city, must be removed to any o!
the Hospitals, persons oonveytng them thither must have a
permit from the Board of Health. ......

following sections of an act approved April 8,1852:

having charge of any vessel or steamboat, violating any of
the rules or regulations prescribed by the said Board of
Health, under the provisions of this act, shall, upon convic
tion thereof by indictment or prosecution in any court
having jurisdiction, pay a fine not exceeding five hundred
dollars, to be recovered and paid Into the treasury of eald
