TUESDAY MOVING: The Camp Meeting at Tarentum —The at tendance at the Camp Meeting, near Tarcntum, on Judge Breokenridgo'e place, is said-to be larger than at' any previous one. The camp ground is situated about threo miles north of the tillage, and is admirably adapted for the purpose, having plenty of line springs in the im mediate vioinity, and being thickly covered with splendid trees, which throw an agreeable shade over the plaoe. There are aboot seventy-five tents on the ground, including several large boarding tents for the accommodation of visit ers. On Sunday, no immense contymrao (esti mated at from four to six thousand,) were pres ent from this city and other plaoea. The Rov. Alfred Cookman, of the Penn street (Christ) Church preached in the mornieg, and is said to have delivered a powerful sormon. We were not present soon enough to hear mere than the clo sing portion, but all those who were in attend ance, expressed the opinion that it wob the moat effective sermon spoken on a camp meeting ground. In the afternoon, tho Rov. Mr. David son, of Smithfield street church, addressed tho assembled congregation; and in the evening, Rev. Mr. Do Haas, of the Ninth Ward Mission, spoke. Daring tho intermissions between pub lio worship, prayer meetings were held in the various tents erected by tha different churches for that purpose, and quite a number of conver sions were made. Although thero was a very large crowd on the grounds tho whole day, qui etness and order reigoed, and nothing ooourred to disturh the general harmony. A proposition has been made by Jadgo Breck enridge, the owner of the ground, to sell the property on which tho camp is located, consist ing of about fourteen aores, for five hundred dollars, (an extremely low prioe,) and it id con templated by the different Methodist congrega tions, to raise the amount in shares of fifty dol lars, purchaso the ground, and devote it perma nently to camp meetings.
