INFORMATION has been made to the Board of lleattu
that eases of cholera occurring outride of the city have"
been brought within Its limits for relief. No doubt the
friends of the rick are prompted by motives of humanity,
yet it If proper they riiould be informed that they subject
themselves to a severe penalty by so doing.
. The Legislature passed laws regulating this matter, lu
eases where the disease is malignantor contagious, in order
that the densely populated city may be protected l ram any
unnecessary scourge, which, when it has guued a
scarcely rests so long as there remains a subject for its re

If patients seUed with cholera, or any malignant or conto
-1 clous disease, outside the city, must be removed to any ol
Oie Hospitals, persons conveying them thither must have a
permit from the Board of Health.
The attention of all persons Interested is called to tne
following sections of an act approved April 8, Us*:
Use. 0. That any master, commander, or other person
having charge of any vessel or steamboat, violating any ot
the rules or regulations prescribe! by the said Boa** of
Health,under tne provisions of this act,shail, opon convic
tion thereof; by indictment or prosecution in any court
having jurisdiction, pay a fine not exceeding five hundred
dollars, to be recovered and paid into the treasury of said
