A Phila delphia paper announces that a man of the name of Bmith (John) who was born in 1697, and died at the good old age of 109, in 1800 left a fortune of $2,600,000, for which heirs’ are now wanted. Another journal of the same city announces that there is to be a meeting of all the Smiths in Philadelphia, some time this month, to determine who is entitled to tbo log. acy, or if not able to agree, to divide it. If the latter plan is adopted it will wc fear prove a poor speculation, for it is estimated the number or persons in the world bearing the cognomen or bmith is five millions, which wonld leave only half a dollar n-pieoo to each heir.
