noon, during the storm,
as a laborer employed
on the Pittsburgh and Steubenville Railroad,
named Kelly, vas passing along the river at the
foot of lll'Kee's Rocks, a limb of a tree was
broken off by the wind, and in its tall loosened
a large stone, which rolling down the hill struck
the man on the head, smashing in his skull in a
frightful manner. Kelly was conveyed to a
neighbor's house, and Dr. M'Cook sent for.
The Doctor went down on Sunday morning, and
extracted eight pieces of the skull. The man
was still living yesterday, although no expecte-
