in Costiveness, Piles, Colic, Dysentery, - Humors, Scrofula
and Scurvy, Colds with soreness of the holy, Ulcers and im
purity of the blood ; in, short, anyand every case where 'a
purgative is required.
They have also produced some singularly inceessful Cures
in Ithetunatism,Dont, Dropsy', Gravel, Erysipelas, Palpita
tion of the Heart; Pains in the Back, Stomach sod Side.
They should be freely taken in the spring of the year, to
puri, thellood and prepare the system - for the change of
seasons. An occasional dose stimulates the stomach and
bowels into healthy action, and restores the appetite end
vigor. They purify the hiad, and,hy their stimulant ac
tion on - the circulatory system, renovate the strength of the
body, and restore the wasted or diseased energies of the
whole organism. Hence an . occiutional dose is advanta.
'pone, even though no serious derangement exists; but un
necessary dosing should never be earned too far, as every
purgative medicine reduces the strength, when taken to
excess. The thousand cases in which a physic is required
cannot be enumerated' here, hdt 'they suggest themselves
.to the reason of every body;- and it la confidently believed
this pill vrillanswer a better purpose than anything which
has hitherto been available to mankind. When their vir
tues ere once known, the public will no longer doubt what
remedy to employ when in need of a cathartic medicine.
