DAILY MORNING POST
TUESDAY 140,101111(1:::
Dzess.-.6-ThS bonorabld Miss lifbrrayidial l er
of a Sooteh Dike, and maid of honor to Queen
Vietoria,,has.been staying for some daysin Nett
York. Misa Murray, is a lady of, fine person,
robust health, and uncommon energy of char
acter—aged about thirty-five years. Her frank
and cordial manners, her intelligence and great
kindness of heart, secured her many friends.
She appears however, to have been struck with
amazement, at the extravagant expenditure, the
helplessness, and the ill health of that unfortu
nate class of beings, the fashionable women of
our cities. Miss Murray, like the fashionable
women of Europe, dresses so plainly that it
probably costa her lees to dress a whole year,
than many a New York lady upends for. half a
dozen handkerchiefs. It is a settled thing
in Europe, that extravagance in dress is the
very extreme of vulgarity, and is never in
dulged in except by those whose only claim to
distinctiOn is their length of nurse.

To Moses F. FAWN, EoQ.:
Dear Sir I have examlnei llopper'e Patent Bench
Plane, ami believe it to be a most excellent article for the
use for which it Is intended, as a combination of plane and
flora, or.
It Is particularly rulapted to planing veneers, and it does
not 111111.1 i, ono-fourth the time or n
labor of the old method:
nod I have no doubt, when its properties become generally
known, but that it will entirely .upersedu the former te.
Mous and laborioua custom.
I most cheerfully recommend It to all persons engaged In
the Cabinet bustneee, an from my knowledge of it, there is
nothing as well tilted to give a smooth and beautiful fluish
to veneers as the Hopper Patent Remit Plane.
