DAILY. MOENING POST.
TUESDAY MORNING
Cubs for He ayes -rTake some weed com
monly called smart vetd, that grows along the
road aid o' or in low places; steep it In boiling
water until the strength is all out, and giro the
boree ouo quart of the liquid every day for
eight or ten days. Mix it with bran or shorts,
if he will eat; if not, pour it down him with a
bottle. Give him green or cut-feed wet up with
water during the oporatiou, and I will warraot
a oure. Horses with hoaves will bo troubled
with it about as bad this dry and dusty weather,
as they wil* in the spring of the year. This
medicine is so simple, and ensy to be obtained,
that some may not think it worth their while to
try it; but simple medicines many times prove
more effectual than those obtained at a great
expense. Now is the time to secure the weed,
and 1 say to those interested, try it. —Rural
New Yorker.
Sheep. Lawrence Smith, of Middle-field,
(M ass.,) hae been testing the respective merits
of the Merino and Oxfordshire sheep, nod finds
that the latter are at the Barno time more pro
duciive and tbe least expensive; they are &Ibo
very prolific, usually giving birth to twins ; and
Mr. Smith has Jit-covered that while tbe receipts
od ten Merinos amounted to $32, the profits on
the OrfordBhircs was $6O 90. Ho also states
that the lambs of the latter species often attain
the weight of 100 pounds on nothing bat the
milk afforded by the dam, and says that he has
hud a seven months lamb in hie flock weighing
104 pounds.

To Meats F. Eato*, Esq.:
Dear Sir —l have examiufll IToppor’e Patent Bench
Plane, and believe It to be a most excellent anicle f r the
u?o for which it I' intended, as a combination,ol plane and
eerrr er.
It is particularly adapted to planing Teneers, and it docs
not require one-fourth the tiiii'i or labor of the old method;
and I have no doubt, when its properties become generally
known, but that it will entirely upersedo the former te
dious and laborious ruaf'in.
I rnont cheerfully reoromend It tn all persoos engaged in
the Cabinet business, as from my knowledge of it, there in
nothing bh well fitted to give a smooth and beautiful finish
to veneers us the Hopper Patent Hein h Plane.
