DAILY "MOBNING POST.
TUESDAY* CORNING:
Bard Tikes is Texas!—Tbo following extract
dated at Galveaton, Tolas, March
7, 1865, gives h discouraging state of affairs:
“ Business has entirely failed this season in
Texas— all branches aro suffering; the cotton
Crop, aa you know, failed. At the present time
the rivers are low, money Boarce, debts abun
dant; provisions high. Tho merebanta are
greatly disappointed in their expectations, and
many will be unable to meet their engagements;
many already oak for extensions. Many young
men of fioo business toot and abilities who com*
menoed business this season in the iuterior of
Texas were otliged to give it up again in des
pair, as they could not realize their expenses.”
We are inclined to believe that the writer of
the above hag colored m&ttera tco highly.

which, newel least in their present form, appear to po>ve*«
