Friday, March 0, ISM. f
Since tho date of our last general review tbe weather has
been mild and pleasant, tho thaw has continued gradually.
Oar rivers are now broken up, and In a few days more tbe
heavy running ice will h&TO disappeared* wbon navigation
will, once more, reopen, on all our valors.
Businers daring the week has bees moderately good, and
we hope in our next to notice a marked Improvement in
every department of trade that our city is interested in.

but sparsely provided for lo the leading articles of Produce
and Groceries. Tbe stock of Floor is unusually reduced,
and tho demand from that portion of the Suite, (the interi.
or and northern counties,) wbichare wholly dependent upon
this market for supplies, is rapidly increasing; and as steam
boat navigation on both rivers will be resumed in a few
diyx, largo shipments will be required immediately. The
market is very firm, and prices still tend upward.
Corn. continues in brisk demand, at steady prices; ibe
shipments to this market during the past winter, has form

from Missouri, Illinois Indiana, lowa, Wisconsin and Oblo,
all of whlchmeet with ready rale at remunerating prirer.

Cloverseed w&sxnore inquired far duriog the week, and

Pig Metal, so long depressed and neglected, has been in
bettor demand from manufacturers, and tho sales for the
week show a slight Improvement.
In Sugar and Molassos the market is almost tare, ard
prices, consequently, havo been high and firm.
Dried Peaches and Apples are wanted, the sopply contin
ues inadequate for the demand.
Beanawere sold In this market, tinea our lost review, at
almost unprecedented prices, and tho probabilities are that
prices will decline, as we learn that considerable lots are in
transit to this market.
Hay has gone off briskly at quotations.
