delighted that Manager Foster has effected a re
enitutement with Miss Ince. During her pre,
Mons sheet engagement, she left such a favors
' Me impression, that they are all glad to hail her
Meru again. She appeared last night, but to
rather • „poor house, which, however, can only
be ascribed to the play, she appeared in—the
Eltsimger. Although the character or Mrs.
Heiler is one wherein an actress can exhibit her
ability to oonsithwable advantage, the play ie so
contemptible that ii rarely draws a good house.
We were sorry to see Miss Ince select it for her
opening night, anffnur anticipations that a poor
indienee would follow, were, unfortuna rely,
More than realised. The lady rendered 'the
character with great effect; in fact so com
pletely did she identify herself with the part,
that she drew tears of sympathy from al: the
Ladies present, for her fictitious sorrows.

for committing an assault on Edward Edwaids.
Matthew Zimmerlee, a boy 'boat ten years of

prentice, for ill-treatment. A warrant was

On run Timm —The express train on the
Omani Railroad, due here at 1 o'clock, P. M.,
was detained several hours, yesterday afternoon,
by running off the track at Florence. No one
was injured.

gion of the nation is Roman Catholic, but tole
ration is allowed. The press will be free. The
confiscation of property and the death penalty
for political offences are abolished. A national
guard is established. The legislators is to oon
gist of two chambers; the Senators to be elect
ed for life, with property qualifications. There
is to be one representative out of every 50,000
citizens. The Courts to meet annually. The
Courts to regulate the strength of the army and
give assent to royal marriages, and appoint the
regency when occasion requires.

Long Beeson, N. J., January 30.—The bark
Argyle from Glasgow for New York, came
ashore five miles south of Square Inlet, on the
night of the 28th, and is fast going to pieces.
The life saving apparatus cannot be rendered
effective. One man reached the ben h, and four
of the crew and one passenger were drowned.
Five others are clinging to the bowsprit. She
was laden with pig iron.
Perilous Situation of Passengers on a
Ferry-Boat
Loutsvixxx, January • 80.—There is an im
mense excitement on account of the ferry- boat
for Jeffersonville and Cincinnati train, with 200
passengers on board, having this morning been
lodged by the ice on the Falls and grounded.
The ice has gorged around her, and it was thought
for some time that all would perish, but they
were finally resorted by the life boats. The ferry
boat, it is thought, witt•prove a total loss.
