Indictment, larceny, on oath of James Robinson.
IClTerdict of guilty, and defendants ordered to be
taken to the Renee of Refuge.
Commonwealth vs. John Brown. Indictment,
laroer4, on oatti if George Booth. The parties,
it appears, were on s " bit of a spree " at the
tavern of Mrs. Bell, on Pennsylvania Avenue,
and Booth, while drunk, gave forty dollars to de
fendant, to be taken care of until he got sober.
Booth's wife called upon Brawn a short time\ af
ter, to get possession of the money, but Brown
then alleged that he bad planed it in the vest
pocket of prosecutor bn the same night he re
ceived it.. The jury returned a verdict of not
Commonwealth vs. JUDEA Albertson. Indio,
went, larceny of $l7 from the store of Stewart
& Robinson, on the 28th of April, 1858. • The
defendant proved an excellent character, but
the evidence in the case was, so strong that the
jury could not help finding a verdict of guilty,
which, however, was qualified by a recemmen

the market house, on Wednesday morning, was
robbed of her pocket book, containing $l2, and
valuable shawl pin. Le.dies cannot be too
'careful while attending market, as there appears
:to be a regular organized band of pickpockets,
"who make it their especial business to be pee
entduring market hours. The crowd incident
upon such occasions favor their operations, and
they are enabled to work without being observed.
