The same prosecutor also made information against Simon Conlon fora similar offence, which, however, was afterwards compromised, by pay log $2,00 and eons. Grrmio Borrita.—John Law, the man who .was out, on Thursday afternoon, by Grant, the negro, is getting better, and is, we believe, pro mu:7,nd out of danger. Grant give himself up to Alders Dobbs, who held • him to bail in $lOOO, for I`.''s appearance at Court.' Bogjzi,T A? Tug Ron Lunt Horn..—A valua ble silver watch, and eizteen dollars in money, '„" were taken, on Thursday morning, from the altrunk of a young lady boarding at. the Red Lion Hotel, on St. Clair street. The trunk was in the lady's bed room. LAIIOIIIIT.—John P. Heller was committed to jail, yesterday, by Mayor Adams, for stealing a pair of boots and a quantity of cloth ing from J. F. Gram. ~,_ ,~,. ::. . % • , • TIM CITY 'POST. 13ATORDAt MORNING::: 4111..T0 MS NOS EIAIX AT THIS 03110 A Ronesten exama lima.—Four young men, named John Flood, William Walker, John Walsh and john Tiernan, were brought before Mayor Yoh, yesterday, on a charge of disorderly con duct. The night previous, it appears, the party had been on a regular "bender," and coming down Wylie street, about " three sheets in the wind," they seized on a sleigh standing in front of a restaurant, belonging to a couple of gen. tleume from Mercer, who had stepped inside to take a couple dozen oysters, and made off with the "vehicle." The gentlemen coming out shortly after, immediately missed the sleigh. and, in great tribulation, made information of the circumstance at the Mayor's office. His Honor, supposing the persons who had taken it were then out of town, but would return early In the morning, gave directions to the watchmen along Pennsylvania Avenue and Penn street to keep a sharp look out for them. Sure enough, about three o'clock the party made their appear ance in the Ninth Ward, from Lawrenoevillb, whooping and yelling like Indians, and making "night hideous with their yells." The faithful guardians of the night, on the alert, pounced on the scamps instanter, and after a severe souffle, in which two or three of the party were severely hart, conveyed them to the watch-house. In the morning, the two gentlemen from Mer cer appeared against the party, who were col lectively ordered to pay to the said Mercer gen tlemen the sum of $6B for the use of their sleigh, and $7 costs. The money was reluo tantly raised, and the party discharged. Sleigh riding in a legitimate way is expensive enough about this region, but we opine this is a leetle the de - lariat excursion these young men ever indulged in. We hope it may be a warning to them. KRAMER, THE MURDERER 07 Tames CLARK. —From information received at the Mayor's Of floe, there appears to be no doubt that John Kra mer, the murderer of Terence Clark, is still in Allegheny county, hiding around in the neigh. borhood of the city. In Plum township, a man, fully answering his description, has been fre quently seen, and always behaving in the most suspicious manner. He has gone from farm house to farm house, begging or stealing food, and declining to converse, even when addressed. A few days ago he entered a farm house in Plum ,township, during the absence of the males of the finally, and demanded food. The lady of the louse, being alarmed at his appearance, did not provide him with what he wanted directly, which he snatched up a lot of provisions from the table, and after searching the eupboard for matches, left um quickly as he came. Coroner Lowry, in company with an officer,- visited the region where he had been seen a few days since, and learned sufficient to satisfy him that this suspicious individual was Kramer. If it bad not been for the meanly parsimo- Mious action of our County Commissioners, this murderer, along with several others who have managed to elude the officers of justice, would have been arrested long ago. But so ecouomi -cal are they in disbursing money, that not a sin glecent can be had to defray the expenses of an officer in seeking for escaped criminals, and those who do search run the risk of spending their time and money for nothing. ROBBLILY Or Taus RUNDE.= 'DOLLARS IN AL LIGHNNT.—Mr. J. N. Forner, one of the school teachers in the Fourth Ward Public Sohoo le, who boards on the corner of Robinson and Fed eral streets, Allegheny, was robbed of three hundred dollars on Thursday evening, about six o'clock. The-money was contained in a trunk Rae in hie bed-room. About copper time he had occasion to go down stairs, where he re metued some fifteen or twenty minutes; when he ee. `urned it was discovered that the trunk eenuu , nin . , this` money had been broken open, and the 'alk.'T° amount stolen therefrom. He gave iefeeme ,:tu ‘ t:f the fact to the police, who are on the alert, ut . despeur of taking the %.per petrators of the deei. no one being suspected. comiono N .—J o hn W. Hidden, Esq., called on tut last evening and regue.'‘ tad 4.` to state that he was never- a President of a K. N. !edge in this city or elsewhere ; nor is he now, nor 442 he been at any time a member of the political society commonly called Know Not.: tugs. He denies all connection with such an aseo,.‘istion and hence it appears that Mr. Marshall could have made no snob defence in the charge N' an assault, as the Dispatch of yesterday states. C. r e are informed that Mr. Marshall denies that be ever used an& language as the "local" of the Dispatch attributes to him. Our friend Riddell assures us that he remains, as he has Zways been, a Democrat, and, politically, nothing but a Democrat. DISTRICT ' COMM —Before Hon. MOM Hamp ton and Bon. H. W. Williams. This arrangement is very ad vantageous for the poor, over-tasked clerks, and will allow them a few hours to devote to mental improvement, or social intercourse, which, at present, they are deprived of. We hope the same action may be adopted by employers in other business. AUAULT AND Berzwar.—A warrant, was yes Us• 810t1ee....A Lecture will be delivered to Forma May by the Rev. W. D. HOWARD, D.
