Chabqi mads against Mb. Wilkins fob Tbo vie AND CoNVNßflioN.— Mr. Isaao Gullett, of the firm of Gullett, Applegate & Mason, on Satur day sued out a capias, in the District Coart, for the detention of Mr. Alvin Wilkine, on a charge of troTer and conversion, in illegally appropria ting $621 76, belonging to the firm of which complainant is a partner. The prosecutor al leges that he gave to Mr. Wilkine, a short time ago, two promissory notes of the valao of $260 88 eaeh, drawn by Capt Foris, of the' steamboat Alice, to the order of Gollett & Co., for the purpose of having them transmitted to Mr. Anderson, in Keokuk, lowa. Instead of doing this, however, the proseoutor states that Mr. Wilkinß negotiated the notes, and pocketed the money. As Mr. Wilkins is at present in limbo, of coarse no difficulty was experienced in finding him. Bail in the Amount of $lOOO was required. Nnw Music.—We have received from Henry Kleber, No. 101 Third street, “ The Moonlight Mazourk,” by H. Kleber, to Dr. Geo. H. Batoh clder. Also, “ I Take Your Hand in Mine, Willie,** words by Geo. P. Morris, Esq., music by H. Kleber; “La Graoieuee Mazurka,” com posed by V. De Harn, dedicated to Miss Minnie Howard. Also, “ The Bwoet Briar Polka Ma zurka,” composed snd arranged for the piano forte by Mr. J. T. Wamelink, and dedicated to his young pupils. These pieces are all well ar arranged, and will no doubt become quite popu lar. “ Sweet Briar Polka Mazurka,” we have heard performed, and think it beautiful. Mr. Wamelink, although young in years, has already Attained a high rank in the musical profession, not only as a finished performer, but as a com poser. Mr. Kleberis talent as a composer is already known, and needs no recommendation from us. See advertisement in another column. Tms Bteubemyille Railroad Case —The pe tition for an injunction to restrain the Pitts burgh and Bteubenville Railroad Company from prosecuting their work on the property of James Wood & Co., was argued a! great length in the District Court, before Judges Hampton and Williams. Messrs. Marshall, Hepburn and Friend appeared for appellants, and Messrs. Woods and M’Calmont for the Company. The Court, after hearing the arguments, ordered that the Railroad Company should give security in the sum of $<20,000, for the payment of such damages as may be agreed upon by the parties, or that may be assessed by law. This action we suppose will finally settle the difficulty, and the work will be proceeded with until it is completed. Order of the Court. —The Judges of the District Court ordered, on Saturday, that the Prothonotary make out, on or before the first Monday of December, a Trial List for November term, 1854, to be taken up on the first Monday of January, or as soon thereafter as the July list is disposed of.
