BAwniPta September 20.—New Orleans papers of Than*
day ere received. The riots are not finally repressed as be
fore reported. Early on Wednesday morning a party of
Americans visited a Coffee House kept by Tim Daffy, which
they completely demolished.. John Kane wet dragged out
of the bouse by the mob. and U bettered to hare been mur
dered, as his body eoald not be found, dames Porter, an
Irishman, was abot dead in tb* street by a eoncealed assas
sin. Barney Boylan wae wounded. The military were oo
der arms while this took place, but the mob had done the
work before they coaid be brought to the eeene of action.
Ihtt papdni strongly condemn the Mayor and police for the
continuance of the riot. At a late hoar on Wednesday
night all was quiet.
The Orleans Courier says the fever is Increasing In malig
nancy. A greater comber of .persons ere dying at the
Charity Hospital, end the monallty is increasing in private
practice.* The dfeaths at the Hospitals for three days amounts
to ninety-five
There is no mail from Charleston, and nothing new from
Savannah.
Arrest off a Slaver~Ftro In Hew York.
Nvw YOU, September 20.—Captain Smith, of the brig
Julia Monltry. was arrested thU morning, .charged by tbo
mate with bringing 610 slaves from Africa and landing
them In Cuba. A respeetabto ship chandler, William C.
Yaientine, was a'so arrested, charged with furnishing sup
plies for the trade.
A fire occurred on Broadway last night. It burnt tbe
premises occupied by John L. Weston, looking-glass dealer;
Hyde, Camp A 00, furniture; Krugler, manufacturer of
syrups; loss $BO,OOO. The Metropolitan wbj in great dan
ger.
Railroad Acetdent<
Cmcuman, September 20.—While the eleven o'clock train
from Dayton, on tbe Cincinnati, Hamilton and Dayton Rail
road, was nearing the depot in this city, running round a
heavy eurte, tbe two hindmost passenger cars ran off the
traek, and fell over an embankment ten fret high into the
canal, resting bottom upward. Thirty person# were badly
injured, but no one was killed, as for as ascertained.

St. Louis, September 18.—This morn'ng, between (wo

legitimate effect upon the business community. But little
has been done for several days past, and from appearances
