'Thbse Mcs Drowxed.—4)n Sunday morning last, tiro men -named Charles Monday and Patrick M Gill, both raiding ■near Lock No, 3 on tho Monongabela river, went out in tho Tiror in a skiff, to catch floating drift wood. There was a great deal of ico running, and as the iwo men .could not. manage tho skiff, they were won in imminent danger of being carried over the dam. A man named Charles Lough ley, railing in-tho same neighborhood, seeing the danger of M’Gill and Monday, procured a skiff, and, accompanied by a man named Harter Barry, went to their rescue. But it was too late; and tho skiff containing Monday and Me 0111 was carried over the dam, and both were drowned. The skiff that Loaghreyand his companion were in, also becam.. unmanageable, and was llkowlso carried over thd dam, It upset, and Loughrey was drowned, hut Berry, succsedcd la saving Mraeelf by clinging to tho bottom of tho skiff. In this way ho was carried to Elizabethtown, where ho. was res cued from his perilous situation.
