tho Treasurer, for thef nso of the city, "for eveiy vehicle
drawn by one horse, the ram or two doliara; and for each
Tebiolo.drown by two horses, tho enm of three dollar*, and
one dollar additional shall he assessed and paid for each ad
ditional home that may bo nttachod to a vehicle ahoro.ll.o

dollars each, with coupons attached, with tho interest poy;
able semi-annually at tho Hank of Pennsylvania, in the city
of Philadelphia, ond payahlo in. twenty years, for the pur
pose of redeeming three .bonds issued to Knapp ft Wadr,

an indictment against Absalom Morris and D. IX, Hazso.of
this city,and Messre.Davis nnd Lawson,of Wellsvillo, Ohio
charging them with conspiracy. :. , -■
Tho Indictment contains fourteen counts. It ebaigos
. the defendants with conspiracy to defraud Knunor and
Halim, N. nolmes and Son, ir. D. King, Iho Farmonf De
posit Bank and tho Allegheny Trust and Savings Com
pany. One count charges them with conspiracy to extort
money, from John MogoiSn of tho Farmers’ Depo-it Bank,
by offering, if ho would pay them $3OOO, to destroy tho
fourteen small notes issued by tbo bank, and wllbdraw the
sails, thus saving (hebank fourtbonsanddoilars: Anrthrr
count follows, charging them with conspiracy to defraud
tho county of Allegheny of $3,600, by endeavoring toobtaln
from tbo Deposit Bank $3,000 conditional npbn the with
drawal oftho suits brought against that institution,’ thus
