yet Notwithstanding tho vast disparity of
forces the Turks fought so desperately as to
show, by the result, that with an equal number
of ehipß and guns and men, they would prove
far superior to the Eussians in naval warfare,
The English papers arc severely ocpsuring |
Admiral Slade, • (an Englishman,) now chief
Admiral of the Turkish navy, for suffering this
transport squadron, with soldiers, money and
munitions of war for tho Asiatic army, to de
part so poorly protected, while he with the main
body of the Torkish fleet, remained idle in the
.Bosphorus. - -
The diplomatics of England, France, Aus

compromise that shall avoid a general war. Wo
wish they would allow us "to: tell: them how to
prevent that much dreaded “general tear.”
Just send tho combined English, French, and
Turkish fleet into tho Black Sea, and destrey
every armed Eussian ship afloat on its waters,

be Bccured in fifty days thereafter. Wo charge

by the same fir® for one-dollar per barrel;,
amounting to nearly ns muoh more. Another
dealer sold a large pair at ninety-five cents per

trade that the last mn of coal was so short that
a large portion of the coal waiting in boats covild

for eighteon cents per bushel. . ;

■We have no doubt that -Pittsburgh can export
