Tho-companies were under the immediate
command. of Col. Samuel W.Blnck. After the
- tine, had been formed, they passed in renew be
fore Major General Robinson and Brigadier
< General Larimer, who wero on the ground, at
: tended by a numerous stuff. Capt. John Her
ron officiated as Adjutant After the 'soldiers
had been renewed by the commanding officers,
they paraded through Allegheny and this city.
In their manoeuvres, ma’rcbing, &&, the compa
nies acquitted themselves creditably.
Tub War SrmiT.—Dr. Jackson, who served
“with honor,” trough.the Mexican war, turn
ed. out with the military yesterday; mounted on
a fiery charger, with a waving plnme; he . at
tracted a great deal of attention. After the
parade was over, and the Doctor's spirit had been
exhUerated by copious draughts of '* courage,”
he got into a difficulty on Fifth street, with a
drunken man,'who was disposed to quarrel with
the complexion of. the: Doctor’s couutenanoe.

Dead.— George Knox, who was so badly in
jured on Monday, by falling from the second
story of one of the new buildings in process of
erection, on Market street, died on Monday night
'abont midnight, at the residence of bis father
in Allegheny city. Hia death was caused by in
juries received by tho fall—bis sknll was frac
tared, and he was otherwise injured. The de
ceased was abont twenty years of age, and was
highly respected by all who knew him.
Aid. Majou yesterday held Patrick Martin,
the proprietor of a drinking house, on the cor
ner of Elm and Prospect streets, to bait, on
charges of keeping a tippling honse, a gambling
- house, and of assanlt and battery. The infor
mations accusing Martin of these offences, were
made by Joseph Kelly, vrhovras assaulted in the
honse of the former on Monday night.
As kitehsauy Surras.—Last evening at eight
end a half o’clock, the Duquesne Greys sat down
to a sapper, at the St. Clair Hotel. After sap
per* was over, toasts, speeches, and songs were
the order of the eyening. The festivities 'closed
at snoh a late boor, that we are precluded from
giving an extended notice of the supper today.
Acoommodatios Tsais.—A change hns been
made in the hoar of departure of the evening
train of the Ohio and .Pennsylvania Railroad,
which will be at forty-five minutes after four,
r. st., instead of half-past five, os heretore. No
other change has been made. The new time
went into effect yesterday,.
The sale of Dry Goods will be continued at
the store of James Huston, No. 581 Penn street,
this morning et 10 o’olook.
Tee Coustt Couhissioseb elect, £. J. Brooke,
Bsq-, was sworn iu yesterday, and entered upon
the duties of his office.
A Lame Stock of superior winter clothing
will be sold this morning, at 10 o’clook, at Davis’
Auction Rooms.
Lucihda Fcbnacf,— This valuable property
in Clarion county will be sold this day, at 12
o’olock, at Davis’ Auction Rooms.
Theatbe. — Mrs. Farren appears this evening,
at the Theatre, in several characters.

The jury returned U verdict of guilty of petty larceny.
Commonwealth vs. John Wfshart; indictment, pasting
counterfeit money. Wishart waa indicted for passing on
ISmsj Giles, a live dollar counterfeit bill, on the State Bank
of Indiana. The jary returned a verdict of “ not guilty”
