James Hiebdeb, an engineer on the Reading
Railroad, was arrested, on Tuesday evening last,
atßichmond, Philadelphiaocranty, charged with-,
having caased the death of Michael Lafferty,
brakesman - on :his train, thrdagh negleot-and
oarelessness. It appears that Lafferty was en
gaged in uncoupling the cars at the time, and
slipping off the ■ hampers,-the train passed over
him, injariug him so severely that he died the
same evening. Hllburn was held to bail in tha i
