ent inzesof the modern Sarcophagus, vnrying in length
from 22 inches to 6} feet, with width ahd,depth suitable
for bodies of ordinary size, and rar those who desire
space for cushioning, or for bodies of nnusaal dimen
sions, have several sizes deeper and wider. This in-,
ventiou now coming into genera) use, is pronounced one
of the greatest of ine age. These Busial Cases arc
composed of various kinds of metals, but principally of
iron.
They are thoroughly enameled inside and out,and
