Steubenville and Pittsburgh Line of Packets. — This is a project whioh is exciting considerable .attention in Steubenville, nod will surely be re ceived with favor by our capitalists. The Herald says that /* os Steubenville furnishes tho majority of tho travel and shipping in the trade, it is deemed politic for her to get up, through the as sistance, of Pittsburgh, ■ a daily lino of packets lietwcen the two points.” The matter well de serves the- attention of capitalists here, ns tho advantages which we would derive from the for mation of such a lino would bo greats especially, as the Herald remarks, during the completion of tho Pittsbnrgh und Steubenville Railroad. The Steubenville people do not like tho idea of Wheel ing receiving tho credit of their trade by meana of their daily lino of paokets, and Steubenville at the Borne time loeing credit as a city. The trade is very profitable, and, if the line was once established, would pay good dividends. The Streets. —Tho time was when wo had . Street Commissioners in Pittabnrgh, but we are apprehensive that they hare passed away, with many other old things that were formerly use ful. Beport, howover, says that some of them still oxißt, but this is contradicted by the citi zens and business men on Fifth street between Market and Smithfield. They argue that if there was a Street Commissioner in the city, the immense amount of dirt and . filth that has been . accumulating for months past in that quarter, would have been removed long ago. We under stand that a petition will shortly be presented to the Councils, praying them to appoint some per son to attend to the matter. ■: Unfortunate. —-We saw an aocidont yesterday, which would, have better become the day before.
