inside thereof,with books, papers &udsbmemouey;whcn
the doorof the Safe was closed and the fire kindled at u
o’clock, and m a short time the Sate was
red hot. and continued UlLhaKpost G o’clock, being about
four and ahnlfhonrs, when the committee expressed
their satisfaction that tho time occupied with such heut
was sufficient. The furnace was then pulled down,Safe
cooled, and door opened—the books, papers and money
safe. The heal was so great as to melt otT the brass
mountings. We therefore take pleasure in recommend*
in* these Safes to the public, as being, tn our judgment,
