FROM. THE SANDWICH ISLANDS Advices from the Sandwich Islands have been received at San Francisco, to the 2oth October King Kamehamha had appointed the 18th of De cember, a dny of Tbaukagiving. A revolt took place among the prisoners at Honolulu, on the 22dof October. The prisoners, sixty in number, after making tneir escape, broke into the magazines, and got possession of arms and amumtion,and loaded three large guns to the muzzle, and pointed them upon the town. The promptness and energy o! the Sheriff soon subdued the revolt, and the ringleaders being once id irons, the fears of the populace had sub sided. XXXlIud CONGRESS- FIRST SESSION. Washington Deo. 19. Sknate. —Mr. Hunter presented the creden tials of Mr Mcßea, appointed by the Governor of Mississippi, to fill the vacancy occasioned by the resignation ot Col. Dans, until the Legisla ture shall elect a successor to Mr. Mcllea. 110 was sworn in. Mr. Miller gave notice of a bill making appro priations for the improvement of nvers and harbors. Mr. Gwinn introduced a resolution, which was adopted, calling on tho Secretary o! the Navy to lay before the Senate all letters received by the department, concerning dogging in the navy. Mr. Fish introduced a bill ainendiug the act regulating the manner of holding U. S. Courts in cases of sickness or disability of district judges. The President’s message was referred to the appropriate committee, and several unimportant bills from the House were passed. Mr. Underwood moved to tako up the bill lor the repair of the Cumberland dam. Lost The compromise resolution of Mr. Kootc was then taken up, when he resumed his remarks. FIRE AT CKARKSVILLE, TENN. Louisville, Dec. 19. Last night the tobacco manufactory of M'Clure A. Browder, at Clarksville, Tenn., in which was $9OOO worth of tobacco, was destroyed by fire. The pork house of Mr. Chamberlin, with out houses and numerous adjacent buildings, togeth er with a large amount of hogs, lard, &c., was also destroyed. The total loss is about $50,000 —partly insured. Two coal boats from Brownsville, Pa., were sunk at the head of Stewards Island, ou the Ohio river. Six persons were drowned. Many flat boats ore reported to have been sunk between Evansville and Paducah. FROM WASHINGTON. Wabhikotom, Dec. 19. The Republic of this morning publishes a let ter from the Spanish Minister to Mr. Webster, communicating the pardon of James M. Wilson, one of the Cuban prisoners, in consequence of an atfecting appeal in his behalf by his mother, which was forwarded to the Queen of Spain, who liberated him und sent him home with funds from her private purse.
