Elir The shoe shop of William Dunn, at the
corner of Third street and Chaacery Lane, was
entered on Sunday night by burglars, who
brought down to the back door an empty trunk,
and filled it with shoes. They were disturbed
in their preceeclings, and fled, leafing the bootS
behind.
A vacant store, in the same street, was forced
open on thesame night. The +Mains, no doubt,
are strangers in the city.
Skarp.—ln the Secona Ward, yesterday, two
young men (minors,) went up to the polls to
gether for the purpose of voting, if no one ob
jected. One of them deposited his vote without
the slightest difficulty ; whereupon the other
remarked—! ( l'll la your - vote," by voting on
the opposite Sao.- The ether objected .to this,
and challenged lifsvote successfully. The mo
cessful one , voted the Whig ticket. _
Ma. Mrs: Ilny,ittetta B. Gleason.lectures this
afternoon, to Ladies, at 8 o'clock, at a
Hall, on the constitution of Woman and her dis
eases, their causes, means of prevention, and
cure, illustrated with a large and beautiful col
lection of models. Every female should attend.
Mrs. Gleason is a regular graduate of one of
the New York Colleges, and is well qualified to
give instruction upon these important subjects.
ta,Remember this is the last night of the
Naiad Queen. Those who have not seen this
splendid Dramatic spectacle, should be sure and
go. It is more splendid than any thing of the
kind ever before presented to the Pittsburgh
public. .
We would call the attention of dealers
to the large stock of fall and winter clothing,
fine shirts, cloths, &c, to be sold this morning,
at INvis' auction rooms. -
Ate:men:a.m.—The lecture of Dr. Seely last
evening, at Philo Hall, on the subject of Mes
merism, was well attended, and the experiments
rendered general satisfaction. He lectures
again this evening.
