ON Tuesday afternoon, duly 20, 1848, the undersigned
were eafled upon by Messrs. Liprencoit A Barr, lo
witness au honest and fair test of one o, their Plimuix
Safes. The furnace being prepared, tne Sate wu- placed
inside thereof, with books, papers and some money; when
the door of the Sufe was closed and the fire kindled ai
quarter pastil o’clock, and in a short time the Safe was
red hot, and coutinued till -half past 6 o’clock, being about
fotir and a half hours, when the committee expressed
their satisfaction thatthetime occupied with such heai
was sufficient. The furnace was then polled down, Safe
cooled, and door opened—the books, papers and money
safe. The heat was so great as. to,,meh off ij ie brass
mounting*. VVe therefore take pleasure in recommend
ing these Sates to the public, as being,m oar judgment,
