SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE !
Baron Limeto, i nhis celebrated wink on Animal Chem

the Gastric J taco, may be readily prepared from the mu
cous membrane of the stomach of the ea.ll; in which va
rious uncles of food, as meat and eggs,
will be so soft

they woad be in the human stomach."
Dr. Paorloaa, In his famous treatise on "Food and Di

states the same great fact, and describes the method o f
preps:lain:in.. There are few higher authorities than Dr.

Dr. Omura, in his valuable writings on the " Ph ysiolo:

severely aeicted with this complaint, finding everything

from the stomach of living animals, which proved com

Dr. °amass, author of the famous works on" Vegeta

that the stomachs •of animals, macerated in water, im
part to the tad the property of dissolving various ant.

Dr. Suson , s great work, the "Chemistry of Man "(Les
& Blanchard Phila., 1840, pp. 321.2) says: "The discov
ery of PEPSIN forms a new era in the chemical history
of Digestion. From recent experiments we know that
food is dissolved as rapidly in an artificial digestive
field prepared from Pepsin, as it is In the natural Gas
tric Juice itself."
Professor DuNotasorr, of the Jefferson College. Phila.
delphia, inbia greatwork on Marian Physiology, devotes
more than fifty pages to an examination of this subject.
His experiments with Dr. Beaumont, on the Gastric
Juice, obtained from the living human stomach and from
animals, are well known. "In all cases." he says, "di

natural digestions."
