ton, in consequence of continued unfavorable foreign
advice. The last steamer brings more favorable ad
vice*, which has given more firmness and a better tone
to the market. The receipts of. Tobacco continue large,
and prices rule at excellent prices. The Grocery map
ket is abundantly supplied, and sales this week have
been dull. Previsions have also been leas active at for
mer prices. The supplies of Flour are ample, and the
market is barely sustained at former prices. In Bag
ging and Rope there has been a (air busineasat previous
rates.
BAGGING AND ROPE—Market unchanged, with a

That from and atter the passage of this Ordinance
all owners or occupants ef lots intending to build or re
pair any bttildineor buildings thereon, in which the hy
drant water is to.be used for building pirposee,shall
make application in writing to the' amasser of water
rents on new buildings, for a permit to use the hydrant
water . ; and inch application shall state the location and
desenption, together with an estimate of the number of
perches of stone, of thousands of brick, and yards of
plaster, in the construction of each building or build
lams and th r e n ts, applicant shall pay to the aid s
sor of water at the time of obtaining s u ch - pe r mit
to use the hydrant water, one-half of the probable sum,
and at the rate of Tour cents for , each perch of atone,
seven cents for each one thousand of prick, and, locty
cants for each one hundred yards of plaster, in such
building - balk orrepalred, and the balance' whenever
the building is completed. Arid any person who shall
use the • hydrant
.yrater for building purposes: without
previously obtaintug such pennit, shall forfeit the sant of
ten dollars, to be recovered as other fines and 'forfeitures
are by law recoverable.
