Tat Vorana meleptior of this
expression gives us a hint of a valuable analogy ,
As in an ocean voyage it is necessary to mark
what the heavens. es well as the ocean, say of
our progress; so to the voyage of life, the hea
venly indications are quite as importaot as the
earthly. The log-book and the quadrant are both
necessary to ellEUle success. The voyage may
awn lair, our log-book may show all right while
our earthly plans succeed; but still we may veer
wide of the haven of our Lopes, milers we correct
our log-book indications by the less variable
heavenly signs ascertained by the quadrant. The
physical and material indications of lite mey all
be lair enough , but our moral, our spiritual, our
final success can be insured only by frequent
observation of heaven, and of the rules, in.struc.
Lions, and warnings wlicb it presents to our
spiritual view. Our double nature, spiritual end
material, demands continual double observation.
Wbile we• note the indications of the log, we
must not forget the quadrant. W H. L.
