AITHEREAS, It Is desirable that the present Market
VT Houses be ; reconstructed, as well as other addi
tional Musket Houses be erected for the greater conve•
nience and accommodation of the citizens;
therefore,
BEciton 1. Bs is ordained and enacted by the citizens of
Piffrourgh, in Select and Common. Councils. cutanbied:
That whenever the citizens of any Ward or Wards of
the City shall subscribe the amount necessary for re
building any, of the present Market Houses, or shall
procure a siteor sites for additional Market Houses,
and the means for the erection of the same, they shall
submit to Councils for their approval or amendment,
the plan or.plum on which they propose to erect the
same; and when the said plan or plans have been so
approved of by.Cbunclls, the same shell appoint a com
mittee to act in conjunction with a committee of the
same namber, to be appointed by the subscribers to any
of the said Markets, who shall constitute - a building
committee, and whose special duty it shall be to carry
out the provisions of this Ordinanee k and to see that the
said Market or Markets are erected in conformity with
the plans approved of by Councils. -

Market or Market Houses shall- have been erected in
conformity with the 'foregoing section, it shall be the
duty of Councils, by ordinance, to enact such rules and
regulations for the government of the same, and to ap
point such officerstts may be necessary for said Mark-

surer and the Clerk eth Clerke of said Markets, shall re
ceive and collect the rents and revenue arising there
from, and after first deducting the CCM of repairs and
other necessary expenses, the Treasurer shall pay over
the proceeds of the said Markets annually, iu the month •
of December,th the respective subscribers to said Mark

The steamer aeorgia, from Chaves and Havana,
arrived this morning with the Pacific mail and 01,:
600,000 in gold dust on freight , and no paaseogers.
She left Chagrin' on the 25th ult.. with . 600 passen
gers, sod transferred 200 at Havana. .
The steamers Crescent City, North America, and
Brother Jonathan were left at.Chagros with only a
few passengers.
The Georgia saile . , , tt from Havana on the evening
ofihe let Inst. Great eicitemnnt prevailed in rela
tion to the invasion. A number had tiennimpritioned
OA suepicion,among them three priests for preaching
mutinous aermons.
The day of the Georgia's arrival was celebrated
by the execution of a poor fellow who had been sent
over by Lopez to obtain pilot. for the expedition.
This is the first execution that has taken place for a
political offence, end has created considerable ill .
feeling against the new Governor General.
Matters are becoming so serious and alarming . it
Havana that many people ardpreparing to leave.—
The Captain General is taking every precaution
against the Manion.' LOok•outa are stationed all
alongt hecoast within two miles of each other, and
vessels of war are kept cruising between San Anto.
oio and Havana, one of them, the steamer Caba l was
ashore on the Coleradoa and the Pizarro has wino
to her assistance.
A row bad occurred at Havana between some
American seamen and the inhabitants. The seamen
were drunk, audwero arrested and put in the stocki
froin the effects of which treatment two died.- The
affair is now in the hands of the American consul.
Tbri rainy season has notyet set in. The Chagres
Rail road will, it Is said, be finished to Gorgona by
the last.ofJulY if the weather continues good. The
inhabitants . Ease established a regular police, and
life sod property are much saferlban heretofore.
The passengers by the Georgia are generally in
good health. Only two cases of illness occurred
during tho royage.
Judge Thurston, the delegate from Oregon, died on
board of the California, end was buried at Ace Palo.
Senator Gisinn had been ill but was recoverlng at
last accounts. The fourth one of the Chagres mar,
deters bad been arrested at Porte Bella and brought
to Panama, where ho is confined in prison. They
are all to be shot in a low days.
The Tennessee which arrived at Panama, bad on
board 8700,000 in gold, and 200 passengers.
The Columbia brought e 900,000 iaogold on freight.
The American sloop of war Vendalia attired at
Bonolula oo tho 10th.
Tho ship Nised Stewart and schooner Betty Blies,
have both been got off the rocks on which they were
cut in a gala. The Nised Stewart was cold pre.

non far the afflicted, permit me to give you a brief histo
ry of my afflictions, and the benefits derived from the
use of "Dr. Wistar's Balvam of Wild Cherry.. In July
1844, I was attacked with a fever of atyphoid character,
which left me in a very debilitated state, when lathe
following winter I was taken with a severe cold, which
reduced me to such an extent as to slim me the appear
once of a confirmed consumptive. I labored under a
severe cough; expectorated a great deal, and was trou
bled with cold feet and night sweats. I also frequently
raised blood from my lungs. I continued in this state,
gradually sinking under the disease, until January, 1847,
until I was rival' attacked with fever. My extremities,
especially my feet, were constantly cold,. and almost
losttheir feeling. radar these circumstances it may ho
truly said that I nos a hying skeleton. I finally deter
mined to quit taking medicine prescribed by physidans
and try Dr. Wistar's Balsam of Wild Cherry, and from
tke first week th at I commenced taking it I can data a
gradual recovery. I continued its use sEsutonths, as the
end of which time I was cured, and have enjoyed good
health ever since, and . cheerfully recommend the Rti
sam to all those ffiieted with diseases of the Icings, and
mould say to those commencing its tun not to be dis
couraged, if two ortee bottles do noteffect a cure, but
persevere as I have one, and I have no doubt but toms
