George Long, a negro boy, 13 years old, was ar

young Rurapf aud him had been spinning a lop to«

lost his top cord, and that he struck him on the head
because he could not find it. He then hunted for
it again, and not finding it he beat him on the head
with a stone until he was insensible. The bruises
on bis arms were caused by his holding up his hands
to keep off the blows. He was not dead when he
left him, and he heard him still groaning at a late
hour that night. The doctors think little Rumpf

Dear Friend Stewart: I have been, home now just two
months. When I last saw you, I bad but little hopes of
ever getting any better. But l have now the pleasure of
thanking yon for recommending me to take Dr. Rogers 7
Syrup of Liverwort, Tar, and Canchalagua. I got a
dozen bottles of it and took home with, me, determined
to make a fair trial of it, as I had done with everything
else. I have only taken four bottles of it,'and I mast
say it has done me more good than any other medicine
I .have ever taken. On my first taking it, it increased
the expectoration, and I raised a great deal of bloody
matter from my lungs. But that has now ceased, and so
has my cough, nearly. 1 cough but little now, and ex
pect soon to be entirely free from it. 1 consider it an
invaluable medicine, and shall recommend it to all who
are afflicted with a cough'or diseased lungs.

I let ayoung lady who had the CONSUMPTION, and
had bled a good deal from the lungs, and doctored sever-'
al months with our physician, but grew worse, have one
bottle of it, and it cured her. It acted almost .miraculously
in her case....

J.D.- Sir : I take the liberty, of advising
you of the benefit that J have derived from the use Ct
Dr. Wistar’s Balsam of. Wild Cherry. I-was prostrated

was afflicted with nearly all of the worst features of the •
disease: 1 had a distressing cough and expeetorated a
great deal of blood* hectic fever, severe painsin the aide

and copious night sweats.
Iwastmdcr fflocareof a skilled physician from the

J. D. Parle—Dear Sir : As I have a deep commissera
tion for the afflicted, permit me to give you a brief histo
ry of my afflictions, and the benefits derived from the
use of “Dr. Wistaris Balaam of Wild Cherry.” In July
1844,1 was attacked with a fever of a typhoid character,
which left me In a very debilitated state, when in the
following winter I was taken with a severe cold, which
reduced me to suck an extent ns to give me the appear
ance of-a confirmed consumpiivc. Xlabored under a
severe cough, expectorated a great deal, and was trou
bled with cold feet and nightsweats. I also frequently
raised blood from my longs. I-comlnued irtihis state,
gradually sinking 1 under the disease, until January, 1847,
until I was again attacked with fever. My extremities,
.especially.my feet, were constantly cold, :and almost
losttheir feeling. ‘ Under.these circumstances it may be
truly said that i was a living skeleton. ; I finally deter
mined to quit taking medicine prescribed by physicians
and try Dr. Wistar’s Balsam of Wild Cherry, and from
the. first week that I commenced taking ixlcan date a
gradual recovery. -Tcontinued its. use six months, at the
end of which . timcT was cured, and have enjoyed good
health ever since, and cheerfully recommend the Bal
sam to all those afflicted, with diseases of the longs, and
would say to those commencing its use not to uo dis
couraged,if two or three bottles do noteffect a cure, but
persevere as I have done, and I have no doubt but nfnq
cases out of ten will be blessed with renewed health as
I have been. • JOSEPH JACKSON.

* Messrs. Sanford. $ Park: I take tuts, opportunity o
informing you of a most remarkable cure performed on
me by the use of Dr. Wistar’s Balsam of Wild Cherry.
In the year 1840 I was taken with the inflammation
of the bowels, which I labored .under tor six weeks,
when I gradually recovered. In the fail of 1841 I was
attacked with a severe cold, which seated itself upon
my lungs, and for the space "of threcyears J was con
fined to my bed. I tried all kinds of medicines and ovc
-3 variety of aid without benefit ; and thus I wearied
onguntil the winter of 1845 r w*cn I beard of Dr. Wts
tar's Balsam of Wild Cheiry.
•My friends persuaded me. to. give it a; trial, though I
hadgiven up all hopes of recovery,and.hap-prepared
myself for the change of another world; . Through their
solicitations I was induced to make use of the genuine-
Wistar's Balsam of Wild C furry '. The effectjwas ituly
astonishing. After.five yearsof-aißLctionana suffering
and after having spent four or live hundred dollars to no
purpose, and the best and most respectable physicians
nad proved unavailing, I;waa' coon. restored to entire
health by the blessing of God, and. the use of Dr. Wis
tar’s Balsam of Wild Cherry.
Maythe blessing dfGod rest upon the pfbprieiors o f
so valuable a medicine as Wistar’s Jjalsara of Wild
