These advantages are, that when tin is used the roof-can be made much flatter—thereby Saving materials, in the length of rafters, brick in the gable the honse easjrof access in 'case of a fife; and showing a better, finish and’appearance.: Also, when tin iVused the gutters are worked in, thereby saving the extra and heavy expense for copper gutters, copper flashings, Ac., —things indispensible on slate roofs: ■ If- further.reasons were deemed necessary, we could offer the'experience of our eastern citiesln proof what has been aavnnced,- as it is a well known fact that New York and other east ern cities very generally prefer even tin for i heir most costiv-andaplendidbuildings, notwithstanding they have a full supply of slate nt their doors; ‘ With these remarks we will leave the subject with those interested, and will take pleasure ingiving farther.infonnaUon when called on., JOHN pUNLAP & CO.. corner Ma.rkei~and SeconcTais Maps of Pennsylvania.^Received, on con- Eiffnmeni, and /or sale singly, at wJioUmle price. three dozen Jarge and splendidly.'finished Maps of this State.
