were called upon by Messrs. Lipj encou & Barr, to
witness an* honest and mtr test of one o, their Fhashix
Safes.. The fumaee being prepared, tuo Safe placed
mside thereof,with. books, papers and aome money: when*
the door of the Safe was closed and the fire-kindled at ••
quarter past 2 o'clock, and in a short ume’tho Safe was
red hot, audconiinuedUll half past 0 o’clock, being abbot
four and a half hours, when the commUtco expressed
their satisfaction that the tune occupied with such heat
was Bufficieut, The furnace was then pulled down* Safe
cooled, and door opened—the books, papers and money
safe. The heat was so great as to melt off the brass
mountings. Wo therefore take pleasure m recommend*
niff these Sates to the pulilic, as being; in ouriudffment
