Safes; The furnace being prepared, tae Sole was placed
i aside thereof, with books, papers and some money: when
: he door of the Safe was closed and the fire kiudled at
quarter past 2 o’clock, and in a short time the Safe was
red hot; and continued till half past G o'clock, being about
four and. a half hoars, when the committee expressed
their satisfaction that the time occupied, with such heat
