Safes; The furnace, being prepared, tac Sale w i < placed
inside thereof, with books, papers and some moncyiwhen
the doorof the Safe was closed and tho fire kindled at ■'
quarter past i O'clock, and in a short lime the Safe was
red >.ol, and continued till half past 0 o’clock, being about
four and a half hours, when tho committee expressed
their sausfaction that the time occupied Wiih such heat
was sufficient. The furnace was then pulled dowruSafe
cooled, and door opened—the books, papers arid money
safe. The heat was so great as to melt. Off the brass
mountings. We therefore take pleasure in recommend
ing these Sales to the public, as being, in our iudcmcnL
