' Complaints tendrng to CONSUM.P27OIV.
. . ,
This syrup coalmine Opium, Calomel, or any mineral
whatever, but is composed entirely of those Roots,
Herbs, andvegetable substances which nave a specific
influence upon the Lungs, and their connected organs. •
is immediate effect is to allay all irritation, and gently
remove the phlegm and other morbid secretions from the
Throat and Air-Passages; thus relieving the Cough,by
subduing the inflammation and other causes which give
rise to it. It also stimulates and imparts a healthy lone
to the Lungs themselves, thereby enabling them mom
thoroughly to remove from the blood those inmarities
and diseased Inn:lees, which, if retained, do so. mach
mischief In the system, and lay the foundation for th en.
table CONSUMPTION. It also exerts a decided action.
upon the akin,. and assiste nature in expelling, through
the Exhalent', much of that Ma rbid matter which wciald
otherwise be thrown back upon the Lungs x tbas relieving
them of a part of their work, and rendenutthe system •
pure and healthy. When tubercles are farming, it ehecks
their. development and further progress; or if ulceration
has taken place, it assists the Lungs in throwing off the
corrupted matter, soothes the irritation, heals the 'ulcer
ated cavities, and restores them again to heAlthy action.
Thie:illedioine, therefore, is not a panitake merely, ,
which only relieves for the time being, but is istArratigb
curative, as it stnkes at the very root of the disease, and
by removing it, removes at once all Its remote and it-
tendant consequences. This is its distinguishing Thew
aeterutic—a property possessed, in equal . power, by
other medic i ne of like nature , now before thepublic.
