85 eta p gall. It is very scarce in this market, and
cannot be bought at less than 9c p gall, in bble.
Castor Oil has advanced, owing to the great scarcity
in the East, from whence orders have been sent to
be filled In this market; we now quote the article at
81,65 p gall, in bbls. Lard Oil is held at 56(5;60c
p gall for Nos. 2 and 1. Tanners Oil may be quoted
at 1517 to 19,00 p barrel.
OIL CAKE—Sales of 20 tons at $112,00.
OIL MEAL—Regular sales at 45c.
POTATOES.—Prices are rather unsteady; we hear
of sale. at 31 to 60c as in quality. The market will
be much better supplied this season than list owing
to the success of the crops. We think 37c. will be
about the correct quotation during the winter.
PIG METAL—Several lots have arrived; but lip
till yesterday we heard of but one sale which has
already been reported at 825, 6 mo. The metal is
not yet all down. It is uncertain how prices may
run; but the manufacturers are sanguine of a decline
before many weeks.
PROVISIONS—There is a downward tendency in
Bacon; we quote sales in a small way at 8189 c. for
plain Hams; 5106 c for Shoulders; 6(6ic• for Sides.
For Batter there is not much demand; we quote Keg
at 9010 c. Lard, sales in kegs at 7c. fir No. 1, in
bids at 131 c.
