We have seen the young bride blooming as it were, as the bird of paradise and the fair flower of hope, the pride of herfather ond the joy of her mother—her cheek flushed with anticipation. and her eye beaming with the POit rz pressiotf of love—the gay dreams of life dancing on her fancy with the Tien and variegated tints of the rainbow's promise. We have seen all this changed—aye, the wed ding garment for a -shroud, and the bridal chamber for this sepulchre of the dead ; and all this from neglecting a common Cold. Now, before it is. too late, use Dr. Rogers' Liverwort and.. Tar, which gives immediate relict, as thousands of our most intelligent families now admit of its most extraordinary cures. The guy, the beautiful and the young,. speak forth its praise, and will, so long as it makes positive cures, and cheers the despairing family fireside. Dr. Rogeti , Liverscort and Tar not only makes remark able cures of Consumption but it Is warranted to break .up the most distressing Cough in a few hours time, or the money will be cheerfully retunded. A bale einem cotton, the first re ceived from Louisiana this season, came to hand on Tuesday, and is represented to be of good staple and color. The receipts at all the United States ports now show an increase of 402,917 bales, while, at this port there is a decrease of 87,037 bales, as compared with the same dates last year. SUGAR—Thougn the transactions in Sugar have necessarily been light, prices have again improved, and about 350 hhde. have found purchasers, prices closing as follows: Inferior ;none,; common. 404,1; fair, 4104 l; pnme, and choice, 41051. c. sir lb We liecr also of nearly 300 hhds. sold on Plantation at 4i63 , 40 per lb. Punishments for misdemeanors when absolutely necessary, are of such a nature, as to affect rather the mind than the body ; not as satisfaction for the offence, but as a prevention to the recurrence of similar offences; Having found this mode of government preferable, it will be adopted in future. Strictattention will be paid to the Physical, the Intel lectual, and the Moral training of the inmates of this School. The Principal is happy to be able to announce to the public, that he has secured the valuable services of Mr. R. E. WILLIAMS, a graduate of Princeton, N. J. and Mr. J.
