Tin ROOling•
fr.RF subscribers most respectfully announce to their
L fellow-citizens that they, have perfected their ar
rangement to carry on the business of Tin Roofing on an
extensive scale.
It is now close on four years since we first introduced
tin roofing fitthiscity. Duffing that nine we have cover
ed over fifty thousand square feetof roots with tinplate,
and in-all cases we believe we hilve given the most en
tire satisfaction. This kind of roof has been applied to
the very best buildings in this eity, including, among u
large number of others, the two superb buildings on Penn
street, owned by John L. Shitenberger and John Bisset,
Esqrs. That tin roofing (when skillfully laid on) is both
permanent and durable; there can be no doubt; in proof
of this, we can refer to the almost universal application
of this kind of roofing intim large cities on the sea-board
during the lust twenty years; and from enquiring on the
subject, we have yet to learn of any one of those roofs
having been worn out. The roofs covered with tin in
our own city are open to the examination of all who take
an interest in the matter. We have also prepared a
miniature plan of roofs, which may be seen at our estab
lishment, where any other information will be given with
pleasure. JOHN DUNLAP & CO..

'LT , PARRY has invented u machine for washing Gold,
I . tar which he has mode application for a patent.—
They are now offered for sale at the Warehouse of
PA RR Y, SCOTT & Co., No. MI Wood st., Pittsburgh.
Adventurers to California are invited to cull and ex
amine these labor-saving machines. They are simple In
their construction, easily transported on the back of
mules or horses weighing eighty pout .s each, and can
be pat in operation in half an hour. They can be tilled
with provisions. It is the opinion of those who have
seen the trial of one of these machines of smallest size,
that two men will wash the mineral from 15U bushels of
sand or earth in a day, without the loss of a particle of
the mineral. They can be increased in size and worked
by water or mule power. if expedient. The operators
work without goin IMO the water or being exposed to
water or wet. an d consequently without endangering
their heti th They will require but a small stream of
water, and ran be used the whole season, and can be put
into operation where there is not soffietent water to wools
in the usual way.
Price of smallest size 525. Orders from abroad, ae•
