Ma. DALhrr—Dear Sir : While my son, IS years"Oldi
iV/0.15 at work in the shingle manufactory of L. P. Rose,
.he had the misfortune to slip and fall into a large vat,
*id for the purpose of boiling blocks preparatory to cut
;ring. The blocks had just been removed trom the vat,
M
ontaining a lair quantity of boiling water. He fell for
ward, scalding lath hands and arms, all one side, and
one leg badly, and the other partially. The scalds were
so bad on his arias and leg that most of the flesh came
off with his garments, and his life was despaired of by
both his physicians and friends.
Dailey's Pain Extractor was procured /15 soon as per
sible (which was in about ail hours) and applied, and
which relieved him from all pain, preventing inflamma
tion and swelling, and in a few days commenced healing
his sores. There appeared age neral improvement, so
much so that in three weeks hewas removed to his
father's house, distant about one mile and a half.
We continued the tise oldie above medicine abofit two,
months, and we believe it was the means, under Provi
dence, of saving his life; and we would cheerfully re
commend it in all similar cases no a safe and invaluable
remedy. With sentiments of resPect, I remain, dear sir,
your most obedient and humble servant.

To Non-resident Holders of Illinois Lands—Holders of
Illinois indebtedness, and all- Parsons clerk'

Illinois scrip or bonds.
!TIRE undersigned would respectfully inform the public
that they have established in this city—the capital of
the State of Illinois—a -LAND and GENERAL AGEN-.
C YOPFICE, for the transaction of all business apper
taining thereto within the limits of the State.
All transacti ons relative to the_ purchase and sale of
lands, examining lands and reporting their location, ad
vantages and value, paying taxes, redeeming land sold
for taxes, investigating titles, &c., buying and selling all
descriptions of State indebtedness, this and every other
description of business attached to a Genera Land
Agency, on the most extended scale, will be promptly
and faithfully attended to. •
In regard to location, we have many advantages over
all other agencies in the State, being atthe Ciwital, near
the centre of the State, and at the very fountain-head o'
all information in relation to matters connected with
lands, taxes, and State ind e otedness, through the medium
of the government and executive offices. In addition to
this important advantage, the senior partner Mr.. Ash,
has occupied, for several years, the position of prineipal
Clerk in the State Auditor's office, and having had charge
of the books and State land departmentin said officefhas
obtained a thorough knowledge on ail subjects connect
ed with this agency; and we are, therefore, enabled at all
times to give correct-and prompt information, much in
advance of any other agency in the State. Ourlocation
is also important to non-residents wishing to pay taxes,
as our acquaintance with the collectors of the revenue is
such that we cnn obtain the tax receipts through the
mail, and the money paid directly Into the State treasu
ry, thereby avoiding the risk of remitting funds by mall.
We also' beg leave to inform persona wishing to.pur
chase State lands, that our arrangements are such, that
we can, at all times, tarnish State bonds, scrip, or indebt
edness in any amonnt, and at leas rates than any other
office in - the State.
In conclusion, we take pride in referring to the char-•
acter and standing of the gentlemen_who have been kind
enough to permit us to use their names as references, and
with is sincere desire to please, backed by fidelity, indus
try and promptitude in all our business transactions, tia
merit the confidence of all who may entrust their busi
