Death to the list..
TT is a notorious fact that of all evils, none are held in
such abhorrence as those altars, Mice, Roaches and
Bed-Bags; and to' have them exterminated, is the wish
and desire of alt. A preparation has been *discovered
by which those who wishi may become rid of this evil,
which isfests more or less every house in this city.
This prep - minion • has now been in use - in Germany
about seven years, (and. in the United States for the last
five,) and by every one who has given it a trial, been
pronounced the best remedy they have ever used for ex
terminating Rat.s,Mice; Bed-Bugs, Roaches, &c.
The articles composing this composition are in them;
selves very innocent, and contain not a panicle of poi
son; but when combined, creates a gas which explodes
the stomach,, and consequently destroys life in a few
hours—as soon us it has affected the stomach. the articles
become neutralized, and will affect nothing thereafter;
so that there can be no danger in its use, under any cit..
camsuinces. This is no humbug. We will warrant it to
rid houses of al/ the Rats, Mice, Roaehes, &e.., that in
fests them. Shoatd it not do as we say, the money will
berefunded. • ' . , J.. 11,14. YOUNG &CO.,

To Non-resident HoiderSef Elite/if tuls--Holders of
Illinois indebtedness. and all persons desir

scrip or.bonds.
THE undersigned would respectfullyinform the public
that they have established in this city—the capital of
the State of Illinois- 7 a LAND and GENERAL AGEN-
C YOFFICE, for the transaction of all business apper
taining thcreto, witbin the limits of the State.
All transactions relative to the purchase and sale of
lands, examining lands and reporting their location, ad
vantages and value, paying taxes, redeeming land sold
for taxes, investigating titles, &c., buying and selling all
descriptions of State indebtedness; this and eve' other
description of business attached to a General Land
Agency, on the moit'extended scale, will be promptly
and faithfully attended to.
In regard to location, we have many advantages over
all other agencies in the State, being at the Capital, near
the centre of the State, and at the very fountain-head
all information in relation to matters connected with
lands, taxes, and State inleotedness, through the medium
of the go rernment and executive offices. In addition to
this Important advantage, the senior partner, Mr. Ash;
has occupied, for several years, the position of principal
Clerk in the State. uditor's office, and having hadcharge
of the books and State land department in said office, has
obtained a thorough knowledge on all subjects connect
ed with this agency:and we are, therefore, enabled at all
times to give correct and prompt information, much in
advance of any other agency in the State. Our location
is also important to non-residents wishing topay taxes,
as oar acquaintance with the collectors of the revenue is
such that we can obtain the taz receipts through the
mail, and the money paid directly into the State treasu
ry, thereby avoiding the risk of remitting funds by mail.
We also beg leave to inform persons wishing to pur
chase State lands, that our arrangements are such, that
we can, at all times, furnish State bonds, scrip, or indebt
edness in any amount, and at less rates than any other
office in the State.
In conclusion, we take pride in referring to the char
acter and standing of the gentlemen who have been kind
enough to permit us to use their names as references, and
with a sincere desire to please, backed by fidelity, indus
